Royal Standard Pub
Western Esplanade
About
Pop in for a drink and a real taste of history at this pub with a famous past. It was originally a house built in 1810 for her Serene Highness Elizabeth Margravine of Anspach, Princess of Berlomont. She left in 1812 and in 1866, when nearby Geddes Warehouse was built for steamship passengers' baggage, the building was turned into a pub. It can be found just a few minutes from Southampton's main shopping area, amongst the old city walls on Western Esplanade.
