The current course of the Rosendaelsche Golfclub (founded in 1895) dates back to 1908, making it the oldest golf course in the Netherlands. The course stretches over 73 hectares and lies in a pocket between two highways (the A50 and A12) and a parallel regional link road. On the course's north and east sides lies the National Park Veluwezoom, part of the Natura 2000 area 'Veluwe', protected on a European level; it is an area marked by vast forests and heath terrains.
