You can dine better here, and in a more refined atmosphere, than anywhere else in town. This pleasant restaurant is more than 160 years old. The cuisine is presented simply but is remarkably well made. Menu items vary, depending on what ingredients are available. Freshwater fish (kept in an aquarium) and game are two of the specialties. You may find some of the offerings, such as eels in dill sauce, a bit too authentic, but the Franconian duck is a terrific choice.
