The Olivella pedestrian precinct, embracing the narrow lanes in front of the Massimo Theater, is a lively place full of people, cafès and fanciful workshops like the nice jewelry shop of Roberto Intorre, an architect who has decided to put his skills in designing towards handcrafting jewels, which express a modern and lively idea of Sicily. Intorre's creations feature an original union of innovative contemporary design and materials deeply linked to the land of Sicily; for instance, the red coral and the lava stone employed in his successful collection Gocce di Magma (Drops of Lava). Shapes become indefinite like sea foam in the Perle e Coltelli (Pearls and Knives) collection, which offers silver and pearl jewelry combined with prickly pear fibers, and reinvents a very typical accessory in a chic way: the Sicilian pocket knife. The shop also hosts photographic exhibitions on the themes of Sicily and jewelry.
