This trendy new Chinese is one of the ever-expanding chain of Copenhagen eateries owned by Henrik Yde, the man behind Michelin-starred Thai restaurant Kiin Kiin. Elaborating upon the concept of dim sum as 'Chinese tapas', Restaurant Dim Sum is not the cheapest Chinese in town, but its smart decor and premium location—close to the Royal Playhouse and swanky Custom House—make a refreshing alternative to the more budget-friendly alternatives. In addition to the daily changing set menu at DKK 350 the a la carte card offers 4 small dim sum dishes for DKK 90, with mains like duck with star anis and orange priced around DKK 150, and house specialties like shark-tail soup (DKK 175). A good cheap option is the 4-course theater menu at DKK 250: It must be pre-booked and the table cleared by 7pm. Wash the whole lot down with a choice from the wine list or exclusive beer from local brewers Mikkeller, brewed with lemongrass and coriander.
