Ratskeller
Am Markt (in the Rathaus)
About
This is a charming, old-fashioned restaurant beloved by many. The less expensive section is the Postwagen, a publike setting that serves platters and drinks in the afternoon. But we prefer the majesty of the brick-and-stone Ratskeller, where a sense of medievalism is enhanced by solid, conservative fare, such as sauerkraut with Wurst, minestrone or potato soup, grilled steaks, fricassee of sole, and fresh berries and pastries for dessert.
