This 55 acre racecourse at Ooty is for the ones who like a rush of adrenalin while on a trip. It is one of the best racecourses in India and looks much more than just a racecourse, with the blue Nilgiris dotting the horizon. Most of the horse races are held in summers, when tourist influx is at its peak in Ooty. The Nilgiri Gold Cup is held here, luring tourists from far and wide. The sight of horses galloping past the crowds in such verdant surroundings is an unforgettable experience. The complex located at an altitude of 2,268 metres above sea level, and is one of the rare few racecourses that are located at hill stations in India.
