Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a small reserve of 38 square kilometers, with a large habitation of the famous Great Indian One Horned Rhino. According to the estimation made in 2006 there are more than 80 Rhinos in the forest, which is considerably a pretty high density. You can spot atleast 5 Rhinos in one Elephant safari. The wildlife sanctuary has played a strong role in the conservation of this majestic species, that is regarded as the 'Pride of Assam'. One horned Rhinos are also translocated from here to Manas National Park.
