On first glance, Phyléa appears to be an elaborate costume shop. But look closer: it's really a fetish boutique, specializing in Victorian corsets, leather, vinyl, latex and metal costumes. Many costumes are a combination of several of these materials. The result is always something elegant and fantastical. Their best-sellers are corsets and latex items, but Phyléa's apparel and accessories aren't strictly for the bedroom. Much of the store's goods would be equally suitable for a costumed gala or theatrical performance. In fact, Phyléa provides costumes for films, theaters and performers in France and Great Britain. The boutique has even provided costumes for the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. - Betsy Mikel
