Penang Organic Farm Centre is an enterprise built on the fairly successful organic movement in Malaysia. Produce is grown on a four-acre farm near the small town of Sungai Pinang on the western side of Penang Island. Volunteers man the farm in return for free food, lodging and panoramic views of the west coast from a breezy site 300 meters (1000 feet) above the sea. The greens are sold from a shop at Bukit Gelugor where other eco-friendly items like organic soaps and shampoos and indigenous crafts are also available.
