For those who love panoramic view of a city, this is definitely a must-see. The Penang Ferry has been around since the 1920's and the ferries look like those in Hong Kong. Board them at the Weld Quay, a 15-20 minutes walk from Chulia Street, the main road of the old quarter of Penang. The ferries depart very regularly so you don't have to wait long if one just left. They are double decked with the motor vehicles in the lower deck and passengers on the upper deck. Departing the island is free, but you have to pay for the fare when you board them from the mainland. Fee is only MYR1.20.
