A reliable, well-established steak restaurant in an excellent downtown location, Restaurant Peder Oxe offers both inside seating in the beautifully-restored, high-ceilinged building, with its ochre walls, open fireplace and tiled butcher's counter, or outside on the old and picturesque square of Gråbrødretorv. The seasonal menu includes free range beef, lamb, and game dishes as well as fresh fish and a salad buffet that boasts of being the first in Copenhagen; expect to pay DKK 350-400 for a three-course meal, not including wine (speaking of which, the restaurant has its own wine bar in the basement). A popular restaurant with overseas guests for decades, English-speaking guests can expect to be well-received here.
