Pasteur Institute of Coonoor is one of the leading institutes of India in the production of Anti-rabies Vaccine and DPT group of vaccines for the expanded program of immunization of government of India. The institute was established on 6th April 1907 and started functioning as an autonomous body under the ministry of Health and Family Welfare from 10th February 1977. The institute is named after the great scientist, Louis Pasteur, who with his knowledge of science made a significant breakthrough in the field of science.
