About
Parshuram Temple is an old temple situated in Chiplun, which is popular for the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Parshuram. It has been constructed with a perfect fusion of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. The temple is also surrounded by stone walls and consists of three idols that were brought here 300 years ago by Brahmendra Swami. The temple dedicated to Goddess Renuka is also situated just behind the temple of Parshuram. Goddess Renuka was the mother of Parshuram and it is believed that the Bandganga Lake at this site was created using 5 arrows by Parshuram.
