This is one of Trinidad´s most popular and accessible walks, a twisting up-and-down route of about 6km along the island's north coast. The overall hike takes around 2 to 3 hours each way. You should allow a day to admire your surroundings, and to swim at Paria´s gorgeous deserted beach, river and waterfall. Petit Tacaribe, further along the coast, is a small eco-resort of bamboo and cedar cabanas overlooking a bay visited by leatherback turtles and surrounded by forest.
