About
Between the mid-1400s and 1975, this dignified-looking building was an Ursuline convent. In 1999, one of the town's hippest restaurants opened within its historic premises. Today you'll find a busy American-style bar area near the entrance, with margaritas selling for 6.50€ ($10) each and a trio of New Orleans-inspired dining rooms filled with chattering diners and the smell of spicy Cajun and Creole cuisine. Come here for a reminder of some of the restaurant themes you left behind in the U.S. and for the possibility of meeting a local at the bar. Savory menu items include jambalaya, gumbos and stews, jerk chicken and pork, and, when it's available, spicy preparations of fish that include catfish. There's live music virtually every night -- pianos, guitars, and jazz trios -- beginning between 7 and 10pm, depending on the night's schedule.
