Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) is a bus station located at the southern side of Vijayawada city and beside to the Krishna River. The bus station is owned by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). It was inaugurated on 23 September 1990 and is officially named as Telugu Satavahana Prayana Pranganam with its current name of Pandit Nehru Bus Station. This is the major bus station in Andhra Pradesh. The PNBS bus station is one of the biggest and busiest bus stations in India. Many buses from other states like Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu arrives at this bus station daily. The bus station is connected to each and every town and city in the whole Andhra Pradesh State. PNBS covers an area 28 acres (110,000 m2). There are 62 platforms totally with two terminals, departure terminal has 48 platforms and arrival terminal has 14 platforms. A waiting hall for reserved passengers and AC lounges for AC Reserved passengers are provided by APSRTC. There are also food courts located in bus terminus and having so much space for car, scooter parkings and Bus parking.
