Panchtarni is one of the most scenic spot around Pahalgam. It is situated on the confluence of five streams and is around 40 km from Pahalgam. Besides being an important pilgrim spot, the place is also good for camping. The spot is named so, as it is situated at the confluence of five streams. Panchtarni is the last stoppage of the Amarnath Yatra as a narrow spiralling 6 km path leading to the Amarnath Cave.
