Rio Negro Palace was the seat of government and the official residence of the governor.His original name was  Scholz mansion ,built by German Waldemar Scholz, considered the "Rubber Baron". Had the name changed to Rio Negro Palace in 1918  after the purchase authorized by the governor of Amazonas,  Pedro de Alcântara Bacellar  .
