Displays fossils of animals - including saber-toothed cats, dire wolves and mammoths - that got stuck in tar pits during the Ice Age 10,000 to 40,000 years ago. Visitors can watch fossils being prepared. The Pleistocene Garden in Hancock Park, outside the Museum, has life-size replicas of extinct mammals. Adults $11. Free 1st Tu of the month, except July and August.
