It is a worship place and a holy place for those who come for prayers, it is a beautiful church were tourist must see this church. The Church of Nerul was founded by the Franciscans in 1569. It was attacked thrice by the Marathas, but they were repelled by the sound of khoznne, and the sight of fictitious cannons made of palm trees placed on the porch roof. The church treasures some old paintings on wooden panels and on walls.
