Copenhagen's only authentic American diner has two branches in the city: The original is located not far from The Lakes on Øster Farimagsgade, while a more downtown diner can be found on Gothersgade. O's American is best known for its calorie-laden breakfasts, including all the usual US standards: Pancakes with plenty of syrup, hash browns, French toast and eggs any way you like them. Should you come in the evening, expect southern soul food like Jambalaya chicken—with a dash of Texan spice for those who like it hot. One of O's most unique features is that the Gothersgade branch opens from 3am at weekends, making it the only place where you can end a club night with a real American breakfast. The 'O' stands for Orlando Lowe, a former linebacker who started the business together with cook Mac back in 1996.
