About
The One Mile Jetty Top Trail is located in Carnarvon, 904 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia. This three kilometre easy walk trail runs from the Tramway Bridge in the town centre, along the railway line to the Precinct and the One Mile Jetty. This enjoyable walks allows close observation of the flora and fauna of the region with the help of interpretive signage. The Tramway Bridge was constructed during the early 1900s to enable the transport of goods between the port of Carnarvon and the town centre.
Walk or take the 'Coffee Pot' train along the historical One Mile Jetty, built in 1897. View the Gascoyne River mouth, mangrove and marine life, migrating birds and jetty activity (renowned for its great fishing) with magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean.
Additionally, visit the restored Lighthouse Keepers Cottage Museum, the Railway Museum (home of the fully restored Kimberley Steam train that operated from the Jetty to town in the 1950s), or enjoy a coffee or ice cream at the Interpretive Centre.
