About
Octavio has the best atmosphere in Castro, with a wood-shingled, airy dining area that sits directly over the water, and a panorama of windows showcasing the view. The restaurant specializes in Chilote specials -- it's known around town for its curanto. It also serves seafood specials such as mariscal, a shellfish stew made with onion and cilantro, and other typical Chilean dishes, such as breaded cutlets and filet mignon. Fish is delivered daily. This place has a simple menu and simple food, but it is all very good, including a few sandwiches and soups if you don't want a full meal. Octavio is typically more popular with visitors to Castro, while Sacho is more popular with locals, most likely because it is cheaper.
