About 20 minutes on the train, just outside of Barcelona, Ocata beach is one of the best places to spend the day, especially during the hot Barcelona summers. If you're looking for a beach not inhabited by tourists with slightly cleaner water  than you'll find in the beaches in the city center, Ocata is lively, fun and have a variety of chiringuitos often playing live music.
