its simply a place for the traditional head of calabar. one special and interesting thing about the obong's palace is the creative use of artifacts, and traditional wears that will hold you spell bound. it is also a one-stop place where as a student, teacher, or tourist, will get on-hand pre-historical analogy and information about the famous calabar kingdom. the obong combines as the traditional and spiritual head of the calabar people. its of course paramount that as it is impossible to pass through Rome without paying due homage to the ceaser so it is for the calabar people. so i personally welcome you to one of Africa's oldest and historic palaces.
