Paying homage to times long gone, the award-winning Oasis is undoubtedly one of Jakarta's most exclusive restaurants. So put on your finest clothes—whatever you do, don't turn up in jeans and a t-shirt! Prepare yourself for a very special dining experience. Upon entering the immaculately preserved colonial house, you will be taken to a waiting area, and then shortly to your table. Only the person who made the reservation gets the menu card with the prices, naturally. The food is exquisite, as you might expect, and the restaurant probably serves the most famous rijstafel (Indonesian rice table featuring a full array of culinary delights) in the whole of Indonesia. The antiques are real and very expensive and so are the paintings-the legendary Indonesian artist Raden Saleh lived here for a time. An unforgettable experience, but make sure you can afford it!
