About 20 beekeepers are now working on Nevis, producing tropical honey that is almost entirely sold to tourists or used by residents on Nevis. A small portion is exported to St. Barts, but most is consumed here. Organized by the "Beeman," Quentin Henderson, who was sent to Nevis with the VSO (Canadian Peace Corps), the beekeeping industry has been developed into a local industry. They beekeepers all contribute their honey to a cooperative and then sell it. It's located at the Beehouse, a charming stone building in Gingerland.
