About
Set up in 2004 by NGO Navdanya and Italian activist Carlos Petrini, the unusually named Slow Food Cafe is the antidote of Mc Donald's and the likes. The idea is to get people to sit back and enjoy an authentic Indian meal made from nutritious grains, pulses and exotic spices. The small restaurant allows you to view the ingredients which go into making your meal, while sipping on lemon or mint tea. The founders firmly believe that fast food is a passing phase and Indians will never completely give up their rich and varied culinary heritage. The Slow Food Cafe proves just that, considering the locals and students who flock here each day. Call for open hours.
