Narnala Wildlife Sanctuary, located few kilometres from Akola district in Maharashtra, is one of the famous wildlife sanctuaries in the country. The dense forest surrounding the ancient Narnala Fort was declared as the Narnala Wildlife Sanctuary on 2nd May 1997. Ain, bamboo, dhawda, lendia, tiwas, salai, teak, sterculia and kusum are some of the flora species that can be found in Narnala Wildlife Sanctuary. Animal species, including sambhar, leopards, wild boars, barking deer, porcupines and serpents, can be spotted in the sanctuary.
