Nanli Lake is a well-known scenic site in Hainan Province, which covers 46 square kilometers. Actually, it is a large man-made lake. The people of Ding'an built the Nanfu Reservoir here in 1958. As a consequence, the water gathered in the valley and became today's Nanli Lake. As for the mountains around the lake, they became the islands in the lake.
