Mukono is 21 km from Kampala. 759Km of motorable feeder roads network and 700Kms of community access roads. The Eastern railway line from Kampala to Tororo and beyond to Northern Uganda and to the Kenyan Harbor at Mombassa passes through Mukono district. The district is blessed with a favorable climate, abundant rainfall, rich flora/fauna and proximity to urban areas. The major tourist attractions in the district include: Mabira Forest, Gorillas reserve on Koome Islands in Lake Victoria , Beautiful lake sceneries and many other attractions.
