This town is full of magic and history, you will find many artisans of many products, like the famous Montecristi Hat (Panama Hats its an unfair wrong name). You will find hats from 6 dollars to 1000 dollars or more, all hand made. You will find also the museum of Eloy Alfaro, the most important man in Ecuador, who was born in Montecristi. Here is the place of ancien cultures pre-colombines(before colonies) like Mantena Culture which is far older than Incas or Mayas, with historical discovery from 9500 BEFORE CHRIST.
