Merthyr Mawr Village is a cluster of tiny thatched cottages that appear untouched by time. The village has been the location for a number of major movies, along with the sprawling sand dunes that extend from the village down to the seafront. Parts of 'Lawrence of Arabia' with Peter O'Toole were filmed here.
