This is the kind of store you either thrill to or find impossibly claustrophobic. Here is a miniature world where houses, furniture, birdcages, and people are cunningly crafted from pewter or carved wood. Many of the items look deceptively realistic. Famous throughout Germany, the shop has been managed for 150 years by women of the same family, and some of the figures are still made from the original 150-year-old molds that are collectors' items in their own right. Anything in this place would make a great gift not only for a child but also for an adult with a nostalgic bent. It's open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, and Saturday 10am to 1pm.
