Masjid At-Taqwa was first established with the purchase of an end terraced house in the summer of 1995. The Masjid was conceived with a vision to provide a place of worship for all Muslims regardless of their gender, race or ethnicity. Through this vision the Masjid was the first of its kind in Leicester to provide a dedicated prayer space for Women, a basic necessity previously long neglected.
