Enjoy a warm and inviting family-run trattoria that recently had a subtle sprucing-up, which gave the room a lift without losing the things that make this veteran, of almost three decades, what it is. Happily, the scrawled memories on the walls have survived the discreet cleaning operation. The prevalence of excellent and intriguing game dishes sets Mario's apart from your average Italian venue, though there are plenty of classics you would expect of your favourite ristorante. Great veal saltimbocca, spinach and ricotta ravioli with pistachio cream sauce and many game specials make for a super menu. The wines are varied and very fairly priced.
