A Japanese coffee house chain with several locations in Shanghai, Manabe has a two-floor branch on Hua Ting Road, just off Huai Hai Middle Road. Frequented by many locals, Manabe is well-known for specialty coffee drinks and tasty beverage concoctions. The clean, casual and comfortable decor, and attentive and fast service also contribute to its popularity. The menu features Japanese-style snacks and Western-style fast food such as clubhouse sandwiches and all-day breakfasts. The drinks are a little expensive, but definitely worth the price. Try the iced tea with milk or the decadent coffee with cream, cinnamon and lemon peel.
