The Main Range Track is considered one of Australia's great day walks. Above the tree-line in the alpine area of Kosciuszko there is a 22 kilometre loop walk which begins and ends at Charlotte Pass. The track takes walkers across the Snowy River and up over Mt Carruthers towards the summit of Kosciuszko itself, then by Rawson's Pass and down the hill back towards the starting point.
