Cuisines: Mexican
About
From the team behind 50-year-old Mexico City standby El Farolito, this spacious authentic-Mex joint is dominated by an invitingly long wood bar, and serves up everything from beer-marinaded bbq chicken ("Pollo Marinado a la Borracha") to tacos like the "Pastor" (herb/fruit marinated pork fillets & bacon, cooked on a rotating spit and served w/ pineapple & onion). The booze is truly unusual, with ingredients like avocado, coffee, and sweetcorn working their way into "Aztec Empire" margaritas -- if Cortes had invaded during happy hour, instead of decimating their culture he would have deemed it "totally sweet" (Thrillist).
