If you want some variety in shopping and some local colour, take the Star LRT to the Bandaraya station on any Saturday. By 5pm you will notice the entire stretch of road is cordoned off and locals handling small stalls filled with colorful items come to sell their wares. As the light wanes, the noise of hecklers heightens and stall owners switch on lights. These hawkers officially leave at 10p. While you weave your way around the stalls, enjoy the smells of local foods and maybe pick up some trinkets.
