The Limerick Show is two days featuring the best of horses, ponies and cattle competing from all over the country. The horse classes include the now famous Limerick Lady and Limerick Matron Championships for which exhibitors qualify at various venues up and down the country. It also features exhibits and competitive classes for horticulture, crafts, art, photography and baking - including classes for children. A fun dog show is a great attraction on Sunday along with the high class cattle classes which include many different breeds of pedigree cattle and also commercial cattle classes. Sheep and goats are exhibited on Sunday and very colourful poultry classes are on Saturday. There are two days of show jumping with competitors from all over the country and ponies of all grades. A highlight on Sunday is the Grand Prix with many well-known names competing. There are many and varied trade stands selling everything from jewellery to tractors and plenty of family entertainment including local musicians, bungee jumping, pony rides, and a fun fair. Facilities include a restaurant and fast food outlets.
