Situated on Nagymezo utca -the Lila Akac looks as though it is probably the haunt of thespians. There are posters on the walls and framed pictures which show what dishes were preferred by which actors - after whom they have since been named. The Lilac Acacia tree lives up to its name with decor in a sickly mauve shade and booths with painful wooden slats. A solitary man plays a tinny Casio organ in the evening at a loud volume - the whole effect is not entirely atmospheric. The menu consists of Hungarian favorites such as bean soup, French onion soup and pancake stuffed with mushrooms for starters. For the main course, expect slabs of meat in different styles - breaded and fried with a vegetable garnish or in a sauce.
