The latest art exhibition at Liam's Modern Art Gallery opened on Friday with "Signs and Fortune" - the work of Chiang Mai-based Thai artist Tanachai Ekurachaitep. This exhibition is a complete departure from Liam's recent repertoire of artists' works. Here, we witness portrayals of fascinating signs and mysterious symbols from eastern philosophy and culture that adorn virtually all of Khun Tanachai's works. The dark and ominous looking canvases actually contain all manner of cryptograms, including swastikas and demonic looking figures, which are meant to repel evil and bring about happiness, fortune and prosperity.
