Lamta, as it is now called, has the remains of a roman village.... The Museum there, is based at an old Roman villa, where many European students come to excavate further during their studies. The surrounding area is as far as I know, government controlled - no building permits given until excavations are completed. 5 yrs ago, a roman wall (or garden) was found in an olive grove about 1klm from the museum. We had a lot of fun collecting what I assume was old pottery from the ground!
