Taipei isn't much to write home about when it comes to beer, but a few microbreweries are starting to make inroads with locals, and Le Ble d'Or is one of them. This small microbrewery chain has the atmosphere of a cavernous German beer hall and serves three locally brewed draughts: a lager, a hefeweizen, and a dark dunkel. The beers aren't anything special, particularly when compared to real German beers, but they're a pleasant change from the usual bar offerings in the city. Diners should be advised to come for the beer, not for the food. The menu of German finger foods doesn't contain anything particularly worthwhile.
