Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple was constructed in Dravidian architectural style by Kanthirava Narasaraja I. According to the inscriptions, numbered Tumkur 41 and Tumkur 42, recovered from this site, the tower and enclosure of this temple were renovated in 1858 by the Mysore King Krishnaraja Wodeyar III.
