The Lake Talbot Lookout provides a scenic view of Lake Talbot, the main irrigation canal, and the surrounding nature reserve. Walking tracks commence from the lookout and continue around the lake. Lake Talbot itself is an artificial lake, located only 1.5 kilometres from the town centre, which is ideal for boating, canoeing and water skiing. The lake adjoins the Lake Talbot swimming complex and Lake Talbot Caravan Park. Lake Talbot is the scene, from time to time, of the Australian and NSW skiing titles. Each January the NSW water ski association holds the Zone 5 Championships on the lake which is especially suitable for water skiing. The trailing willows break the turbulence caused by boat and skier.
