Lahad Datu Golf & Country Club is set amongst a vast landscape of oil palm plantations on the Sandakan to Lahad Datu highway.When it first opened in 1994, it was the all-Bermuda golf course in Sabah, which was chosen as suitable for the flooding-prone area, and adopts nicely to the contours of the lands whilst being environmentally friendly.The Lahad Datu Golf & Country Club's course has various water features and natural streams which crosses the grounds, making for a challenging course.At 6,325m in length, it's one of Sabah's longest par 72 courses and first timers are often surprised by the diversity of the layout and how beautiful the golf course is.The 17th is the signature hole names Green Island. A tee shot has to land on narrow plateau, before an attack 30m down, surrounded by a stream.
