Lady Hydari Park and Zoo

This Park owes its existence to Lady Hydari, the former first lady of the state and the wife of Governor of Assam (before separation of the state). Lady Hydari Park and Zoo encompasses a deer park, which stretches for more than a kilometer. You can find some best-grown rose beds here. The blossoms and roses boast of tasteful tones and colors. The Lady Hydari Park is properly maintained and it has a special play arena for kids. It is a great place for couples and friends. Lady Hydari Park is a verdant tract that stretches up to a kilometre in the heart of Shillong. It is named in the memory of Lady Hydari, who was the wife of Assam's erstwhile Governor. Meghalaya's forest department is the administrative authority of this park and looks after its maintenance.
